Skin Needling

Skin needling uses micro-needling technology and has a strong effect on collagen and elastin rejuvenation. At The Aesthetics Centre we use the SkinPen device.

Micro-channels are created on the skin surface by the tiny needles in the SkinPen. The micro-injuries trigger growth factors that stimulate new collagen production. Active ingredients can be delivered to deeper layers of the skin through these channels, improving texture, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, breaking down scar tissue, and treating pigmentation. The small footprint of the device makes it ideal for hard-to-reach areas such as around the eyes, nose, and mouth.

Treatment Process

You will need a clinical assessment to confirm if your concerns are suitable for skin needling. Before treatment the skin is cleansed of all makeup and a topical local anaesthetic is applied for comfort. The SkinPen is then moved across the skin at a preset depth for several passes. A hyaluronic acid serum is usually used to improve glide. Different topical agents may be applied depending on the condition treated.
